State of Florida Issues Updates on Increased Mass Migration Along the Florida Coastline

The Florida Division of Emergency Management today reported that since August 21, 2022, over 10,000 migrants attempting to enter the state illegally have been interdicted with nearly 6,000 migrants apprehended upon landing. The Division is working in conjunction with Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) to assess, document and remove derelict migrant vessels. Over 200 migrant vessels have been removed or disposed by Division partners.

The Division continues to work in partnership with the Florida National Guard, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Florida Highway Patrol to increase coastal vigilance
