FORT MYERS, Fla. — Thousands of roofs will get some coverage this weekend as part of a federal program called “Operation Blue Roof.” So far, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) says they’ve gotten more than 13,000 applications for this program in Southwest Florida. They could start work on roofs as early as tomorrow. Some homes in our area don’t qualify. If you have a tile or slate roof, the Army Corps can’t work on your roof.
