Florida crime lowest since 1971 but rape offenses up 14% year-over-year, FDLE data shows

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Florida Department of Law Enforcement reported that as of 2021, crime in the state had reached a 50-year low, dropping 8.3% since 2020.

The department said that was nearly 40,000 fewer crimes reported.
