Comcast using Xfinity Wi-Fi vans to supplement spotty SWFL internet


Comcast has deployed Xfinity vans with free Wi-Fi across Southwest Florida to assist the many people who have had their power turned back on since Hurricane Ian but are still waiting for their internet connections to be restored.

Each van can provide wireless internet connections to over 1,000 users. They will be available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day.

Steve Goodman, a local business owner who hasn’t had Wi-Fi since Ian hit, says it has been a struggle keeping up with crucial emails and bills.
